Shark tournaments have become an exciting part of Montauk fishing; Double D also offers you a chance to be part of this breathtaking experience. The way tournament fishing is done is as follows. The tournaments are mostly two days of fishing. The boat will be paid for two days of shark fishing plus the tournament entry fee. If any money is won in the tournament ALL winnings go to the patrons. The tournaments provide for a fun weekend with friends or family and provide the added competitive rush whenever cash prizes are involved. Fish Facts

150 lb. bluefin tuna can bring even the strongest angler to his knees. These trips can venture the furthest offshore but can provide the greatest rewards. The popularity of tuna makes it fun to catch and great to eat.

These fish are known as black sea bass. caught throughout the summer and fall, these fish can be feisty and provide non-stop action at times. The best time of the year to target these fish is usually sept - Oct.

The fish seen here is commonly known as a blackfish, also refered by their indian name Tautog. These are bottom fish caught from Oct-Dec. They are found over heavy structure and are renowned for their white flakey meat.
